Meet The Local Vault

Meet The Local Vault

At The Perfect Provenance, we love working with other local companies on initiatives that support each other.  As as small business, it is wonderful for us to meet new clients and share our goods and services.  I met the two co-founders of The Local Vault when I sold the furniture of my PR business and moved from Old Greenwich to Greenwich.  I encourage you to check out their beautiful site and either use them to sell your items or pick up something new!

We are very excited to be partnering with The Local Vault on a curated collection of our furniture, art and home decor and celebrate the launch of #Sustainable #Upcycle #Perfect.  You will find amazing deals on beautiful items and 5% of all of the sales will benefit Kids in Crisis -- check out the collection here.  We will be hosting a event with them on March 28th at 9:30 a.m. and Stylist Maria Turkel to help you refresh your home and closet.  You can rsvp at info@theperfectprovenance.com.

1. When did you know you wanted to  launch The Local Vault

Like most great ideas, The Local Vault was born out of necessity. Frustrated by the limited options to sell our used home decor, we realized that no one was really servicing the individual seller. It’s hard to believe that was 6 years ago!

2. Tell us what you have in common?

We are both very hard workers, have a passion for home decor and we both really like wine! - Betsy

We are both passionate about our company, have boys who are  juniors at GHS, and are madly in love with Blue (Besty’s dog)

 3. If you could invite any two designers for dinner (dead or alive) who would they be?

Bradley Cooper! Oh wait he isn’t a designer...yet..;) - Betsy

4. What advice do you have for female entrepreneurs today?

First and foremost, make sure you have a good idea! And if you do, don’t let the negative noise stop you.  It’s important to learn from your mistakes and be willing to make changes along the way.

Do not doubt yourself.  If you were able to be out of the workforce to raise children that does not mean you have not been working.  Your were the head of HR, Operations and Customer Service. Often times dealing with fairly unreasonable human beings- Betsy

5. Who are your (heroes) in real life?

I am inspired by creative people and those who want to help make the world a better place.

People like Coco Chanel,  Bono and Marlo Thomas, just to name a few...

6. What is your greatest extravagance?

My Peloton bike - Betsy

Weekly manicures and fresh cut flowers

7. Tell us about your favorite #ootd outfit of the day?

Pair of great jeans, cashmere sweater and boots (this is my normal office attire as well though).  Betsy

8. Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

No worries! - Betsy

9. What’s the quality you most like in a human?

Honesty and the ability to laugh at oneself - Betsy

Kindness

10. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Hands down, my kids.

Besides my children, I would say this company - Betsy

11. What is your motto?

Why not have a big life? Emily Dickinson -  Betsy

I always tell my kids, “Work hard,  play hard.” For me that just means  it’s equally important to work hard and enjoy life.

12.  What are your hopes for the future of The Local Vault?

Big plans for the future….Betsy

We want to encourage sustainable living by sourcing and selling home decor locally. That’s why we want to build a national company with local implementation.
