This collection has been designed with a genuine feel for refinement and license. Olivier Gagnère breathes new life into distinctive traditional Gien motifs. To do so, he explored into the heritage of the Faïencerie and, alwaysmindful of the essential characteristics of Gien, came up with a story : Tulips an emblematic Gien pattern found in the company archives ; Heraldry - a symbol of Gien's renown throughout the nineteenth century, which has here beenrestated in a completely new light ; Polka dots - reminiscent of the Pont-Aux-Choux grain of rice theme, enhance the design and lend a gentle touch ; Richly colored links - bringing an element of strength and their hand-painted effect is a reference to the unparalleled skills of Gien craftsmen. These links symbolize the transmission of know-how and continuity, the enduring mark ofGien throughout the ages.

About Gien

Gien is the most prestigious maker of earthenware in France. The company dates to 1821 when Thomas Hall brought fine English earthenware manufacturing techniques to France. Gien tableware takes inspiration from many sources, including Rouannais patterns from the 18th century, Italian design, Delft earthenware, and styles from the Far East. Artisans and craftsmen today take inspiration from Gien's rich design past to create classic and modern tableware for today's consumer. Since Gien dinnerware it is fired at lower temperatures than porcelain, its colors are notably rich and warm.
