This beautiful poster was created for an exhibition of Raoul Dufy’s work in the early 1960s. It is based on an original painting that Dufy created in the early 1930s. The poster was printed by Mourlot Printers who were the finest print house in France. Deauville is located approximately two hours from Paris by car and it is the country getaway for wealthy Parisians, especially for equestrians.
Raoul Dufy, 1877-1953, French Fauvist painter, fauvist “means wild beast” in French. Using strong color and design he was also part of the impressionism, modernism, and cubism movements.
