The design for the "Pont aux Choux" Gien dinner service was conceived many years ago and has since become established as one of the company’s classic designs. Now it is experiencing a revival with a totally new colour wardrobe. The faience "Pont aux Choux" dinnerware by Gien is no longer only produced in the nostalgic-looking cream colour; some pieces are also available in bright blue and taupe.
"Pont aux Choux" brings colour to the table and conjures up pictures of warm summer days by the sea. It also highlights the typical rice-corn design and the wavy rims of the "Pont aux Choux" dinner service from Gien.
The name "Pont aux Choux" was inspired by a bridge in Paris. Near said bridge, there used to be a manufactory, which decorated its porcelain with a rice-corn decor. This manufactory was bought by the Fayencerie de Gien several decades ago.
