FAQ

Why is the Dinner menu limited ?

Our restaurant and store are small (Victorian homes were much smaller than modern dwellings) and our kitchen is even smaller. As a result, we have limited staffing and storing capabilities. Our food is freshly prepared by Chef Arik specifically for you every week. We offer a selection of fish, meat and poultry creatively prepared and inspired by our current exhibition that changes weekly.

Why Don't You Have a Liquor License?

The rules for liquor licenses in the town of Greenwich are very specific. Our establishment s considered a Cafe because we only have 6 parking spots -- we would need to have 10 spots to be a restaurant. Cafes in Greenwich are not allowed to sell liquor but we can have BYOB. We will happily cork and serve your bottle.

Why Is There A Corkage Fee?

Corkage fees are standard whenever you bring in outside beverages because we provide the glassware and service and you aren't ordering beverages in our establishment. We have to wash and clean the glasses as well. We want you to enjoy your meal with wine or alcohol of your choice but we are also a business and need to pay the bills! Why do you have so few tables? As a cafe, we are limited in the amount of seats we can have by the amount of parking we have. These are town rules and we have to abide by them. Also, our concept was also to be a store & a cafe, we think it makes for a nice experience and allows us to be small and special.

Why do your menus change every week?

We are different and we like it that way. Chef Arik creates his menu every week based on what is fresh, available and inspires him. We aren't interested in doing the same thing every week. If you have a favorite dish though, tell us and we are happy to bring it back, we just like to keep things interesting.

Thank you for visiting us and we hope you enjoy your experience.
