About Us

We opened The Perfect Provenance in a 2016 to bring a uniquely luxury lifestyle store and cafe concept to downtown Greenwich, Connecticut. A gallery for the senses, The Perfect Provenance offers a curated, a one-of-a-kind collection of fashion, food, home and lifestyle products in our flagship Greenwich, Connecticut location, Cafe 47 and online store. With emphasis on craftsmanship, quality and tradition, our European and designer fashions and accessories for men and women, luxury home gifts, fine fragrance, beauty and collectible works of art rotate seasonally, so there’s always something new to discover and delight.

The Perfect Provenance which literally means a place of origin; including that of a work of art or archaeological specimen, introduces a new exhibition with each new season, spotlighting a handpicked selection of celebrated designers from around the world. French, Italian, British, Australian, Indian, Brazilian and American luxury designers, such as Vanessa Bruno, Perrin Paris, Robert Clergerie, Blumarine/Blugirl, Hemant & Nandita and Alexandre Birman are featured. Our award-winning Café 47, led by Chef Duane Shand, is fully integrated into the retail experience, offering a bespoke menu that changes seasonally with our exhibitions.

We invite you to discover some of our favorite things that have brought joy to our lives and add a flourish to our world. Come in, discover, find something you love—and please, eat! Cheers!

We hope you will enjoy our uniquely luxury lifestyle store and Cafe 47 in downtown Greenwich, Connecticut and our online store and become part of our Perfect family.Over 20 years as a public relations and marketing professional, I have seen the luxury market grow rapidly around the world. Sometimes, so rapidly, it seems products just keep getting more and more expensive, but not necessarily of better quality. Popular culture has created a mass luxury mentality where quality is no longer the driver; instead it’s about labels, labels, labels. Labels and branding were originally created so you, the customer, would know who made your product, and the care and artistry that went into it. Today, in America and around the world, that ideal can seem very far away when you walk down the average main street or high street and see sameness all around—different logos, similar products, all made for pennies.

If you are like me, luxury isn't about the 'labels' or even the price tag. Luxury is, or at least should be, about the original ideal behind the product —the quality, design, craftsmanship, uniqueness, and the experience—the provenance if you will—of owning it! Think of the most treasured object you bought on a vacation or a wonderful gift from a loved one. Price and labels hardly matter. What really matters is where you discovered it, how the fabric feels, the meaning behind the smallest of details on a hand painted item, or the ability of a scent from a special candle to transport you to another place and time.

At The Perfect Provenance, we hope you can discover a new kind of luxury, an authentic luxury that has been around for thousands of years. Perhaps a new artist, a beautifully designed scarf or a new insight about the world around you, through our rotating, seasonal exhibitions and the sense of community we offer. Our kind of luxury is about the story behind who and where your product was made. We invite you to join our Curators Club so we can learn more about you and your interests and lifestyle. Thank you for visiting! We wish you health and happiness, the greatest luxury of all.

Meet Our Founder

“In our store, we set out to recreate the feeling you get when you’re on vacation and buy something special that becomes an incredible memory, something you cherish every day.”

I spent 25 years living and breathing the world of luxury—through fragrance, spirits and lifestyle products—as the founder of a PR firm with offices in New York City and Greenwich, Connecticut. My access to celebrated artisans, the education I received along the way and the breathtaking places I toured from Europe to Napa Valley, all instilled in me an appreciation for craftsmanship, quality and tradition. These became the tenets and foundation of my second act: my lifetime dream-come-true to open a retail and online luxury boutique.

I conceptualized The Perfect Provenance with my husband Mat, a private equity banker. A marriage of all my passions in one place, The Perfect Provenance brings art in all its forms—through fashion, fragrance, food and home décor—to downtown Greenwich, Connecticut and online. Our rotating collection of international, European and American designer fashion, fine tabletop, glassware and collectible works of art, along with our Perfect Provenance signature Circle of Life fine jewelry and Smile Collections, change seasonally, inspired by culture and lifestyle trends seen, heard, smelled, tasted and touched around the world.

A New Experience of Flavor

Coffee tastes have changed so much that I remember around 2012, introducing a much more acidic coffee into our blend thinking we were going to lead customers into a new experience of flavour, only to be dismayed on day one with customer’s dissatisfaction with a fruitier and more flavourful coffee. Coffee is after all the seed of a fruit. From then on, we began to work at a gradual pace, turning up the brightness a little, season after season. Today we can proudly craft a coffee with notes of lemon meringue, strawberry or passionfruit and find people on all sides of the counter are learning and developing their pallets.
