Modesta necklace, named for my paternal great grandmother who was a full blooded American Cherokee, she married my Italian immigrant great grandfather and settled in Chicago. Fun Family rumor -- Warren Beatty and Shirley Maclaine are second cousins.

Laura Earrings are named for my maternal grandmother. I remember visiting Chicago as a young girl and spending time in her kitchen enjoying her wonderful Italian meals and her blond hair piled high in a 60's bouffant. She was Sicilian and met my grandfather as a teenager growing up just blocks apart.

The oval shape of this bangle mimics the trigger cage of a gun and serves as a reminder of the destruction that is caused when the trigger of a gun is pulled.
Each series carries a serial number that corresponds with one of the premise guns that were seized at crime scenes by the Detroit Police Department. The side of the cuff is hand hammered to symbolize the hard work required, not only of the police, but of each individual, in the fight to get illegal guns off the streets of their community.
20% of the net proceeds from each Caliber purchase will fund future public safety initiatives in the city marked on the bangle.
